So, What are Electronic Cigarettes?
Everybody knows the dangers of smoking tobacco. Of the 4,000 or so toxic chemicals in traditional cigarettes, around 50 are known to cause cancer. What if you could enjoy smoking without ingesting any of these hazardous substances? The Electronic Cigarette offers you this possibility.

Electronic cigarettes are a modern alternative to traditional tobacco cigarettes. Resembling a normal cigarette, electronic cigarettes consist of a cylinder housing a lithium-ion rechargeable battery and some microelectronics. The end of the battery normally contains a colored LED which lights up when you inhale. A removable heating element – normally referred to as an atomizer – sits at the other end of the tube. Cartridges are available in a huge variety of flavors, such as tobacco, cherry, coffee, menthol, orange, apple, vanilla and strawberry. You can also choose the strength of nicotine you prefer. When the cartridge runs out, it can either be discarded and replaced with a fresh one, or in some cases refilled.

What to Look For Before Buying an Electronic Cigarette

• The Battery – starter kits will come with one or more batteries, which form the body of the cigarette and contain the power source and electronics necessary for it to function. While cartomizers are more expensive, they have a big advantage in that every time you change the cartridge, you are also replacing the atomizer for a completely new one. Since atomizers can get clogged over time and cease to function effectively, this can be a big bonus. On the other hand, a separate cartridge system means (possibly short-term) cost savings. It’s normal for a cartridge to last for roughly the equivalent of a pack of normal cigarettes. As smoking an electronic cigarette should ideally provide a very similar experience to smoking a tobacco one (without all the drawbacks), it’s important that the atomizer/cartomizer produces a decent amount of dense vapor.
• Flavors and Nicotine – it’s a good idea to choose a kit from a supplier which offers a wide range of different cartridge flavors and nicotine strengths. If you’re hoping to reduce your nicotine intake over time, then it’s very useful to have the option of starting out with higher strength cartridges which you can gradually substitute for lower strength ones.
